THANK YOU!

"Quick as a flash, 2013 is 'done' & 'gone' With a few hours left before the new year, I've found time enough to appreciate everyone who has been a partner in progress with My Person, My Brand % My Blog. My unreserved appreciation to you. Without you; there's no me, and its absurd being here. What's a writer without his audience, or a speaker without one to listen to him? You said hi when it mattered most, you spared me a time to breathe whenever I couldn't be there. You quoted my works, promoted my brand, and remained selfless, seeking nothing in return. Twitter, Facebook, GooglePlus, BBM, BBM Channels, Instagram et.al 2014 'll birth even greater things from my stables, as I also envisage a greater you come 2014. All in all, you made

JUST DO IT!

"JUST DO IT! What? JUST DO IT! Why? JUST DO IT! ...Tell me something else, there's something I'm yet to know, and failure to have me know it will have me JUST DOING IT." ***SIGH*** What a way to start a piece of writing I bet you're wondering. Many by now have figured where and to whom exactly the afore mentioned phrase (JUST DO IT) belong. For those who haven't, its a byline, a trademark of one of the world's biggest sport kit company, NIKE. Since its famous break into limelight, this word has never seized to inspire. At the mention of that phrase, you adrenaline pumps with a characteristic tickle in your body. The question of what exactly to do is usually not far-fetched. At the mention of the word "Just Do It" in your mind's-mouth, and more palpably, even from a person's lips or when read in a book, on a wall or on billboards, there commence a mind-scan/probe, you ordinarily want to relate it to something, you natural

PEACE

"Peace for the rat, peace for the eagle; hunter and hunted, until then no peace shall find. Peace for the sword, peace for the wielder; until then, from blood stains none shall be spared. Peace for the food, peace for the chef, without which, both shall ever continue to sweat. Peace for the pen, peace for the writer, neither of the two can claim to feel no pains. Peace for the hated, peace for the hater, if they both will understand, not one is in a position of comfort. Peace for the candle, peace for the fire; only wish they both know sleep for the one is sleep for the other." LOVE PEACE, FOLLOW PEACE WITH ONE AND ALL. No one is ever truly at peace waring against the peace of another, its only a short while, and I hope not late, before we have all realized. +2348034780274

"In PURSUIT of Happiness"

These lovely words came first from the pen of Thomas Jefferson(A one time U.S president) and are a part of the U.S. Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. As our use of language changes though, the original meaning of that phrase has been lost. When Jefferson wrote "the pursuit of happiness" he meant something similar to "the practice of happiness." Think about the whole phrase this way - "life, liberty and the practice of happiness." We have life, we have liberty, and we can have happiness. Happiness has never been something to aspire to, but something to practice, or most fittingly, BE. As I think about this concept I recognize that we spend much of our time in pursuit, when what we really need to do is practice what we want. For example, it wouldn`t be enough to be in pursuit of an Olympic Gold Medal, you know the only way to get there is to practice. This may seem very obvious for the kinds of skills already associated with practice (

TODAY! Not TOMORROW!!!

Its many hours gone now, and you're still "Wanting to do it" Its years gone now and not one move have you made, instead you've had accumulated months of wishful thinking. When exactly are you going to do it? Oh, at the right time you're saying? Am sorry to announce to you, that phrase is a SCAM, there's no such thing, you really must make a time right. Procrastination is a sickness of the; high and mighty, small and lowly, young and old, saint or sinner, rich or poor. Its got no bounds, it respects no limits. There exist a common saying that; "Procrastination Is The Thief of Time", but re-branding this, I'll submit that; "Procrastination Is The Thief of Life", for it steals your life right before your watchful eyes. It does it so cynically, you hardly realize you losing anything. Like that common African folklore that pictures the mouse as eating a part of you and blowing you cool air to the surface of that part of you being eat

"SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER REMAIN SILENT 2" (The Wedding Day Brouhaha)

......By popular demand, sequel to my last post "Speak Now Or Forever Remain Silent", I bring to you the continuing episode of what went down the day. I want to seize this opportunity to thank my fans and blog readers for their followership, support, encouragements and sometimes critiques. Without you, there's no Wordsmith™. . . . ...I could not laugh enough on the day. In a funny twist of events, don't forget we already have 3-bodies lying on the altar. I adjusted my sit properly, and told myself "Not one scene of this will I miss out on". Every man for his kind, the priest had ignored both bride and groom and reached out to revive his ailing colleague, fanning air to his face with the programme outline in his hands. Both parents also took to the alter, seeing the selfish gesture of the priest, each taking to the direction of their wards (Grooms parent to groom, and Bride's to the bride) everyone battling to resuscitate their own. With the pr

"SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER REMAIN SILENT" (The Wedding Day Conspiracy)

"If anyone here has any reason why these two should not be joined together, let him speak now or forever remain silent" ....The priest had barely concluded his words before we heard the doors yawned open paving the way for this tall, dark-skinned, fine looking young man, dressed in a nicely cut grey suit. The knocks of his shoe heels on the floor was all that was to be heard in the auditorium, as the whole place had gone dead silent on his appearance. Startled by this scene, and confused by the thought of trying to reason out what exactly was going on, the priest could at best draw out his white handkerchief from the pocket of his robe as he wiped his face severally as if to say, every one wipe made him see better. For all those minutes it took this man to make his way up the alter, I understood better the meaning of the medical term "SHOCK". The bride, you mean what was happening to her? I fear we don't go there, she had gone past the stage of something

The "POPULAR TRUTH"

"Tell them more often, and it becomes their truth" ...On this one sentence I'll build a base for today's piece. Hopefully it'll be a short one, once the heart of the message I'm able to strike right early. There's this tiny little thing I'm about to expose, and we all have one time or the other been a sucker for it even in our most guarded moments of critical observation and consideration. Having watched closely, I've observed a few things, one of which I'll take my time to scratch in this piece. More of the talk today hoovers around; Truth, Lies, Deception, the Frequency and Emphasis of it. A careful examination has shown that humans tend to believe a word, thing, or opinion with the highest degree of occurrence, call it frequency and you'll still not be wrong. Many a times, a lie is only a lie on its first appearance. And subsequent appearance of such begins to trigger some degree of consideration within a regular human mind which

WHEN WHAT YOU WANT DON'T WANT YOU

There's been a lot of talk about destiny, and even much more about its workings. Some believe it is the dream maker, many believe it is the determinant of all things. As much as it appears we understand this phenomenon, it remains clear we really do not understand completely, its workings. To properly comprehend this phenomenon(I call it a phenomenon), we need to observe "DESTINY" in its various forms, as a WORD, and as a PHENOMENON. To define on the surface, destiny is FATE. The fate of a person or thing (although not so appropriate for inanimate objects). Destiny or fate is a predetermined course of events.[1] It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It remains another topic entirely to discuss around the origins of destiny, the origins of a man's fate. Save its superficial(as some see it) definition, some will refuse to accept that it is predestined. Their stand on it, is that MAN WORKS HIS DESTINY, as everyone

THE CHANGE YOU NEED

....Come let us reason together! Change; and event that occurs when something passes from one state or phase to another. This could be as a result of an alteration or modification. To undergo change is to become difference in essence, to undergo change is to experience a degree of transformation. Change could mean a replacement of a thing with some other or same kind.... Change could just mean about everything in the world. As the famous saying goes "Change Is Constant", it remains a constant force the holds the earth in its spinning and its people in their living. It is only natural for man to be sick of being the same man over a number of days, months and years. At every point in time, man dreams a change, a positive, forward moving change. The life of man is such designed to desire an extra, everyman wants an improvement upon his yesterday today. Some dream a change from worst to worse, worse to bad, bad to good, good to better, better to excellent, as some sitti

Idol or Hero?

Let's get something straight here, clearing the air/shedding more light to this subject is been long overdue. World over, we have had men of timbre and caliber, and they've have often been misplaced into the wrong category and classified into the wrong class of beings. After reading this piece, I'm of a high percentage of certainty that you'll readily bring back a list of men who in your/world views have influenced their world. Running quickly, to enhance your precision in classification, its expedient that I launch into the thick of this subject. Is there any difference between a hero and an idol? Most people think that both "hero" and "idol" are used in the same context. But the fact is that the two are different. We call a person a hero if that person has done some heroic deed or has done something good for society. A person is attributed the title "idol" because of his good looks or has some good features, but this is not the same as a

"The Order-City of HOPE"

The beauty of hope is in its length. Weird? Please let it not seem as such to you. What makes hope what it is, is the 'Wait' part of it, an optimistic wait actually; "Believe". An intrinsic characteristic of hope, one which earns it its most distinguishing property is; Hope's like tomorrow, it never dies, and is never relenting. Another side to its never ending nature is that; hope sings just one song into your heart and ears; "Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow" and when "Tomorrow" comes, it sings another "Tomorrow" into you. Nothing encourages as much as hope, just as nothing wears a man out as much as hoping. It's all in the way we handle it. As long as the one hoping remains, hope remains, its only a case of whether they choose to make use of it or ignore it, letting it lie fallow. Whichever way, hope lives! A popular saying goes; "When there is life, there is hope". Yes, this is very true, but with need for some touc

"A Sincere Prayer By A Novice"

Looking back through the years, I took a trip down memory lane, way back to my days in elementary (primary) school. I remember the Head-teacher of my school often picked on pupils at random to step forward and lead the assembly prayers (Her usual practice). But what fascinated me back then was this; whenever any pupil was called out to pray, they all prayed one line in common. Here it goes; "O'Lord God, give us WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING" Being the young inquisitive boy that I was, never had peace with that line, as I always wondered why we had to ask for all three. As for me, as far as I understood then, they all meant one thing; "O'Lord Let Us Score 10/10". Obviously, this was one case of; "A Sincere Prayer By A Novice". Growing up into secondary school, I discovered the same line of prayer was also continually repeated there. It was then I took my inquisitiveness to another level; I decided to find out what all-3 meant. I had a

GOAL vs AMBITION. -Any Difference?

Goal vs Ambition: Have you any Goals and/or Ambitions? Have you ever wondered if these two words have everything or anything in common? Do you see any difference between the two? This piece would help you clarify exactly what they are. Let's kick off from here! . . . “Goal” and “ambition” are often used interchangeably as many thought that both contain the same meaning. Although both terms are used in the same context, they are completely different from one another. A “goal” refers to the specific result, destination of the ambition, or effort. It can be also called a specific target, aim, or objective that serves as the focus of achievement. Goals can have a variety of descriptions including; success, distinction, or achievement. “Ambition,” on the other hand, refers to the determination in reaching a goal or any of its relative terms. Aside from the inclination and determination, it is also referred to as the process of achieving something. In having and fulfilling

WHERE ARE YOU POINTING?

...Yes it's true, and it still stands very true, that "Someone, at least one person must be to blame or held responsible for any occurrence or happening" Nothing just happens, yes, someone/a group of persons, spirits etc somewhere is/are responsible for them. Having said all this, the question on my mind still remains unanswered, and myself unsatisfied by the above. It is a good thing to identify who/what your problem(s) or their causes are, yet it saddens my heart to see that some do not just ever claim a share of blame in any matter, as their minds are configured by default to a particular setting or state of mind that I term; "It Wasn't Me" , "It's Not My Fault" , "Ask Him/Her" , "They Caused It" mentality. Wait a second please, I need you to run a check for your own good, yet on my behalf, using the statement below. What is the psychological state of your index finger? *Always pointing forward? *Always pointing

MANAGING ANXIETY

(Anxiety: definition;) *A vague unpleasant emotion that is experienced in anticipation of something. *1. Being anxious. 2. Worry or concern. 3. Eagerness, troubled desire. (Oxford Dictionary of English.) It is an emotional state in which people feel uneasy, apprehensive, or fearful. All people experience anxiety to some degree. Most people feel anxious when faced with a new situation, such as a first date, or when trying to do something well. Generally, expectations breed anxiety. A mild to moderate amount of anxiety in situations that warrant them is normal and even beneficial. Anxiety can motivate people to prepare for an upcoming event and can help keep them focused on the task at hand. People usually experience anxiety about events they cannot control or predict, or about events that seem threatening or dangerous. However, too little anxiety or too much anxiety can cause problems. Individuals who feel no anxiety when faced with an important situation may lack alertness and f

WHEN TO SAY WHAT

Everybody has something they want/don’t want to hear in every different situation. There are words meant for particular purposes and situations, and not every word can be said at a particular time. It is a true statement of fact that love and care cannot be perfected without words, but it’s far better to keep quiet than to speak inappropriate words to a person in a condition. Without much ado, we’ll take some examples to start with. ***What do you say to a person who has just lost something valuable/precious? *Don't dare say... -"It just wasn't meant to be." It's easy to be philosophical when it's not happening to you. -"Are you going to try again?" When someone's grieving over a loss, he/she doesn't really want to think about another just yet. -"At least you know you can get another!" Right, but he/she also knows they can lose it again. Not something they want to be reminded of. *Do say... -"I'm so sorry to

FEAR FACTOR

No one thing inflates itself as much as fear does. No one thing prides itself bigger than it originally is, as much as fear does. Man requires 3-folds more of courage than strength to get past his fears, as appearance and size remain the two viable and most significant fear factors yet existing. Many atimes, what would make a man/animal not to confront its fear/threat lies in its size and/or intimidating appearance. Overcoming our fears is not a matter of strength as it is thought to be (All forms of fear well considered). Overcoming a confrontation of fear requires more of courage than strength. "The potency of venom doesn't often commensurate the size of the producing animal, don't let 'appearance' fool you." Fear comes in sizes and the bigger the better. Oooops!, I know you'll say; the bigger, the more fearsome they appear, but its actually as put earlier, as fear merely inflates itself. More of fear is in its size or estimation of size. Only me

Nigeria, You, & Me.

There are only 2 answers to every question of Life, besides them, others are mere MODIFICATIONS and never perfect answers. No situation in the life of a man ever leaves him sitting on the FeNcE, because EveRy mAN is either "HERE" or "THERE",and there's nothing like a HERETHERE. We somewhat answer a YES or a NO to every given situation either through verbal or non-verbal communication. Beware! The Yes you say today, may make you a NO tommorrow, and the No you say today can make you a YES in the future. REMEMBER THE SUBTLE YES EVE DISPLAYED IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN? IT BROUGHT US TO THE POINT WE ARE TODAY. Like that folk song we used to sing way back in elementary days; "Wherever you go, wherever you be... Do not say a YES when & where you mean to say a NO". Life is an aggregate of choices, and every man is made or mar by the aggregate of his YES' and NOs. The ability of a man to make PROPER use of these two words in LIFE,is what i call TRUE INDEPEN

What Next?

Show me the man who's contented with what he's got and doesn't want more, and I'll show you a man lying in a coffin. The wants and needs of man are so insatiable and inexhaustible, and the realisation of one dream one births the question "What Next?". No matter how high a goal you set for yourself, No matter how tall an ambition you're nursing, No matter how unbelievable the dream you've got, No matter how unthinkable the vision you see, The day you lay hold of it, you'll get to confirm my paradox that ; THERE'S NOTHING LIKE SATISFACTION. It defies logic to know that the word satisfaction never existed in the dictionary of mankind, as the poise to get more always override his sense of satisfaction and contentment. Even at the peak of his career, he wants more, he wants to try something else, he wants to be something new, he just never gets enough. Don't get things twisted here, I'm not condemning who we are, follow me carefully and
