DIARRHEA OF THE FINGER

D @mn! ...you discover a free, popular, maybe trending platform and the journey to losing yourself immediately commences. These “little toys” given us as dividends of technological advancements have turned out to be the pivot tool advancing many to their heaven or hell (Death; mentally and/or literally). To think there’s very little privacy left in our world today with the advent of social media, it saddens me to see people lose carelessly the little they still get opportunity to protect. Today there's hardly a thing you do without being monitored, tracked or STALKED . You were how old when you realized it is called "Following" for a reason, and what you basically need to do is click the “Follow” button to have yourself “followed” (hahahahaha!). It's true they say "if you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear". But I tell you, you're better off with fear, than to find yourself stark naked, and left out in the cold. How Do Hurricanes Get Their Names?

How Do Hurricanes Get Their Names? I had consistently wondered how and why storms and hurricanes were given names, and in most cases, human names.  My curiosity had driven me to ponder about so many possibilities.  Most recurrent of my thought was; perhaps the name of the first metereologist to discover or alert about the impending storm was often adopted. In the pursuit of a more organized and efficient naming system, meteorologists later decided to identify storms usi...

The Science Of HeartBreak

Since you broke up, your stomach has felt like a hollow pit of emptiness, but you still can't work up an appetite; your heart feels as if it's clamped in a vice and you haven't slept a wink all week. We've all been there before and there's no question about it: losing the love of your life is a miserable experience. But it's time to stop romanticising the past and agonising over what you've lost on the outside, because the real pain is coming from inside your head. The brain hates being dumped. The same area that's active when you're in physical pain also goes haywire when you suffer personal rejection, says psychiatrist Dr Marcelle Stastny – evidence, she says, that your head is the one telling your body that being dumped hurts and not the other way around. When you're in love, certain areas of your grey matter are awash in dopamine and oxytocin, hormones that give you feelings of pleasure and contentment, says Stastny. But when your love i...

MANAGING ANXIETY

(Anxiety: definition;) *A vague unpleasant emotion that is experienced in anticipation of something. *1. Being anxious. 2. Worry or concern. 3. Eagerness, troubled desire. (Oxford Dictionary of English.) It is an emotional state in which people feel uneasy, apprehensive, or fearful. All people experience anxiety to some degree. Most people feel anxious when faced with a new situation, such as a first date, or when trying to do something well. Generally, expectations breed anxiety. A mild to moderate amount of anxiety in situations that warrant them is normal and even beneficial. Anxiety can motivate people to prepare for an upcoming event and can help keep them focused on the task at hand. People usually experience anxiety about events they cannot control or predict, or about events that seem threatening or dangerous. However, too little anxiety or too much anxiety can cause problems. Individuals who feel no anxiety when faced with an important situation may lack alertness and f...
