"The recent happenings in the northern parts of the country might just be signs of God's own justice on that part of the country which is characterized by the dreaded, destructive and life claiming activities of the Boko Haram sect."
Popular views from the media and social networks shows that some agrieved citizens of the country who have lost lives of friends, families, and properties couldn't but show no form of sympathy on hearing about the Adamawa flooding, and most recently the over flowing of the River Niger.
A tweet I retrieved(respecting anonimity) stated "They better stop blaming Cameroon or any other African neighbour, na God dey punish dem, and na God go punish them for all the people wey dem don kill".
Could this be true?
Is God begining to punish the North over the prevailing Boko Haram activities?
In the wake of the River Niger incidence,no fewer than two million people have been affected by flood in Kogi State as River Niger continues to overflow its bank.
The North-Central coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ishaya Isah, disclosed this at the weekend, when Senator Smart Adeyemi and other National Assembly members from the state paid a visit to St. Luke Primary School, Adankolo, Lokoja, which had been turned to a relief centre
According to him, nine local government areas of the state with close to 350 communities had been destroyed by the ravaging flood in Lokoja, Kogi, Ibaji, Igalamela, Ajaokuta, Ofu, Omala, Olamaboro and Idah local government areas.
While disclosing that the flood victims in the three rehabilitation centres in the state capital had consumed close to 300 bags of rice and other relief materials, he called on corporate bodies and individuals to come to the aid of the victims.
However, Senator Adeyemi had promised to appeal to relevant agencies to stop the release of water from the dam due to the havoc it had already caused.
Senator Adeyemi, who came to the state capital from Banda through canoe and donated N1 illion to the rehabilitation centres, said he was touched by the plight of the victims.
"A huge number of humans have their Truth-Reserve/account either fat or static. We rarely withdraw nor spend from it, and will rather run life's transactions with that (il)legal tender, LIES". -TW™ Its not so amazing today how accepted, tolerated, and infact enjoyed (in the actual sense) lies are. Little wonder I chose to coin it as "(il)legal Tender". Illegal tender in every sense of it, yet legal tender judging by the widespread acceptance and employment of it. Why Account? Account owing to the fact that we know the truth, identify it, gather it, but yet fail to employ it, resulting to a mere build up (Account/Reserve) in our hearts, while refusing to spend/transact with it. Note: Truth spent yields even more dividends that truth stored. Why Lie? The "cover my/your arse" mentality/syndrome has taken the good-life over from us, I wonder why on God's earth we left our arses open in the first place, and who told us lies truly covers anyone'
True in my own perspective. These people have harboured the Boko Haram for too long. If they claim not to be aiding their activities, then let them expose them.
ReplyDeleteTrue in my own opinion. These people have harboured the Boko Haramist for too long. If the claim not to be aiding them, then they should expose them.
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't be too quick to conclude, flooding is a just a natural occurence, I rilly don't see it in the light of God punishing the North because of Boko Haram.
