Twisted

OPTIMISM sustains your mystery, but pushes you closer to victory. The question remains, "Why suffer more over a possibility?". The believe that breeds optimism stretches your mystery, works you out psychologically, physically and mentally. Being certain and confident when you've got no rights to, goes a long way to boosting your chances, since you'll want to try more, do more, and believe more, though you're likely to hurt more in the process. Looking the other way, I found some serious fact, and I can't but share with you the other half of the twist. PESSIMISM ends your mystery, gives it all up, and closes the chapter of any possibility of a breakthrough. The conclusion that breeds pessimism comes with a rest of mind, acceptance of fate, with little or no need to worry, seeing there's no way out. There onward, all you need do is go on with your life, perhaps try some other things, well, that's if your pessimism is not a lifestyle. Let me quickly

The Heart of Man

Look him straight in the eyes and he'll give you a smile, but refuse to be carried away, it just might not be reflecting what's inside. He might sing, he might smile and still be dying right inside. The heart of man is complex, lots of work you need to do to comprehend its goings-on inside. The earlier you choose to live by these facts, the better placed you are to getting there in time. The way to know a happy man is not through his smile, the key to recognising one remains through his unguarded/ spontaneous words and deeds. Though the thoughts and intents of man dies with the seizure of the beating heart, but from thence we'll prove a point, that the subject "The Heart of Man" we talking about here goes beyond the physical cardiac structure responsible for the pumping of blood. The splitting open of the physical heart of man can never reveal the intents, plans and plots of him. So criminal, so deceptive, the mastermind of all surface actions. So confusing, so

Articles Of War!

The art of war is one which entails much dexterity and skill, strategies and counter strategies. Skills, preparation and confidence are keys to success in any battle. Confidence and dexterity on the part of the leader of the fold, and devotion, loyalty and hunger for victory remains vital to the other men of war.And permit me to inform you again that you are in for a war! “As for me, I’ll rather lead a herd of sheep with a lion, than let a sheep lead a pride of lions” so says a man of understanding. Expertise at war involves every form of preparation (i.e. pre, post and during). The articles of war remain vital in the art of war. Consider this with me; what would you say of a man dressed in a blazer suit, though beautiful, carrying with both hands sacs filled with substances unidentified, and marching to the front of battle with earphones plugged into his ears and his head swaying from side to side in response to the sound produced from his mini sound system? A goat heading to slaugh

Another Mystery Baby Is Born

Barely three months after the reported birth of a baby with a mini-Quran in Mushin area of Lagos State, another oddity has occurred in Sagamu, Ogun State as a woman was said to have delivered a baby boy with an Islamic rosary, otherwise known as Tesbeu. Investigation by Sunday Sun revealed that the boy was delivered on Tuesday at Rotoluwa Maternity Home along Aiyepe Road at about 11.45pm. Mrs. Gbemisola Hamsat, a 35-year-old mother of five, was said to have been delivered of the baby and the rosary. Expectedly, the strange delivery has turned their 2, Odujoko Street, off Prison Road, residence into a Mecca of sorts as people thronged the area to confirm the tale. The Matron of the Maternity Home, Mrs. Sarah Olurotimi Oloyede, a traditional birth attendant, confirmed that she took the delivery of the somewhat strange child. Oloyede’s words: “I heard a sound of something dropping into the bed pan before the placenta came out. “It sounded as if it was an iron or something with wei

A Mind OF YOUR OWN

1. 2.. 3... If you've got a mind of your own, You wouldn't need to worry about distractions in your zone. People can be funny and you know, The moment you get to listen, you'll be troubled and you'll blow. Its very amazing when it shows, Some people hit your back and its clear that they know. "Men can be wicked" there you go, Its clear you give a damn, you'll be sorry you did so. I do not want to listen, I dey go, You can tell it to the birds or whatever, na you know. Now you've got the feeling, you'll soon grow, The disappointment you've planted in their hearts will soon show. 1. 2.. 3... If you've got a mind of your own, You won't be tossed around like a balloon that is blown. Your decisions will be gold, And the more it goes through fire, the brighter it will glow. There's this statement that may hold, With a mind of your own, you may ignore whatever you're told. Very true, but don't be cold, Consider things, weigh them

Hurricane Isaac Hits America

NEW ORLEANS— Hurricane Isaac began a slow, drenching slog inland from the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, pushing water over a rural Louisiana levee and stranding some people in homes and cars as the storm spun into a newly fortified New Orleans exactly seven years after Katrina. Although Isaac was much weaker than the 2005 hurricane that crippled the city, the threat of dangerous storm surges and flooding from heavy rain was expected to last all day and into the night as the immense comma-shaped storm crawled across Louisiana. Army Corps spokeswoman Rachel Rodi said the city's bigger, stronger levees were withstanding the assault. "The system is performing as intended, as we expected," she said. "We don't see any issues with the hurricane system at this point." There were initial problems with pumps not working at the 17th Street Canal, the site of a breach on the day Katrina struck, but those pumps had been fixed, Rodi said. Rescuers in boats and trucks

CRAZY: 3-Women Grip Man's Manhood Till He Slumped

An Upper Sharia Court in has released on bail, three women accused of gripping the manhood of one Abdurrahman Suleiman until he slumped. The accused were first arraigned on Aug. 13 but the case was adjourned by the judge, Malam Sani Magami, to allow the prosecution to present its witnesses. At Monday’s hearing, the prosecution presented a witness, Muawuyya Salisu, 22, who told the court that the ladies had attacked the victim, a member of the First Aid Group deployed to maintain peace and order at a Ramadan preaching event, pulled his manhood until he fainted and was rescued by his colleagues. The witness further told the court that the accused had held their hands over Suleiman’s mouth to prevent him from he could shouting for help. The prosecuting police officer, Hamisu Ibrahim, said the women ,

MIND MEDICINE

When I had a problem with my eyes, I used some eye drops. When I had some problems with my ears, I used some ear drops. I've been roaming pharmacy stores for a while now, still I'm yet to see anyone of them show me any mind drops. A problem with the mind is not one to be handled by pharmaceutical experts. A problem with the mind is not one to seek stores in search of a cure. A problem with the mind is one that can only be tackled with the correct application of a MIND MEDICINE. “Mind Medicine”, I perceive you echoing. “What's this young man talking about”? I sense you asking right now. “Thought he said Pharmaceutics couldn't handle it”? I suspect you're puzzling at the moment. …Mind Medicine I still emphasise as the only cure to problems with the mind. Everyone one has got their own unique mind medicine, as what heals your mind may not heal mine, and could infact infect it. A time comes in the life of a man when his mind will refuse to be helped, and it all loo

Who Becomes Aare Ona Kakanfo Of Yorubaland?

Several years after the demise of late M.K.O Abiola, the last Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, the Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and his cabinet chiefs are searching for another man who is bold, revered and dignified enough to put on the armoured title. Deputy Editor Adewale Adeoye reports Who will be the next 'war general' of the Yoruba nation? This appears a topical issue among a large section of people of the SouthWest as it is among the Oyo Mesi, an age long traditional cabinet associated with the Yoruba and which primordial western scholars who visited the old Oyo Empire in time past, once equated with the British House of Lords. Faced by a sharp political divide, cultural and moral meltdown and a growing public disrespect for a largely isolated leadership, the appointment of another Aare Ona Kakanfo may heal wounds among the Yoruba people, a prominent traditional ruler in Ogun state who does not wish to be named told our correspondent penultimate week. He stated tha

Standing here and on my own, right about now there’s no too much for me to show I got friends when I was down below, but am up here right now and am so alone Like a pyramid events seems right now, the fatter it is below, and the thinner it gets above The fact is, not many get up there, but I have found myself there and now I’m living like “upstairs”. Its true you see so clear views, everyone’s around you, but then the pain is here; there’s hardly one next to you. Now you must live like in oblivion, please take it that way, because for now its your new religion. Its lonely up here I declare! Little wonder you see me sigh and every time I talk to the birds. Life has changed, am not finding it game, and this fame, beyond my thought is making all things lame. But looking well, who am I to blame, the people down the lane or myself up the plain? Life was fun sitting where all was loud, now am like oh my God! How much I miss the crowd. Without feign I’ll take my pain with less complain, k

Teenager Tweet Before Death In Maryland Train Derailment

Two teenage girls were killed early Tuesday when a train derailed on the bridge they were sitting on, spilling coal and burying the young women, police in Maryland said. Rose Mayr and Elizabeth Nass, both 19, were apparently sitting on a bridge ledge in Ellicott City, Maryland, just after midnight with their backs to the train when it derailed, according to a written statement from Howard County police. The two girls posted photos to Twitter shortly before the crash. One showed feet dangling over a road, with the caption "Levitating." Another appeared to look down Main Street. Nass tweeted, "Drinking on top of the Ellicott City sign with @ r0se_petals." The name Ellicott City is painted on the railroad bridge. Mayr and Nass were high school classmates of David Butko's. He said he grew concerned when he heard about the accident and saw the pictures on Twitter that indicated Mayr and Nass were on the bridge. iReport: Fatal Train Derailment in Ellicott City

How Cynthia(Ex-General's Daughter) Was Killed By Facebook Friends

Ikeja — Indications emerged, Tuesday, that the late Cynthia Osokogu, the only daughter of General Frank Osokogu (rtd), whose body was discovered in a Lagos morgue a month after she was declared missing, could have been murdered by her facebook acquaintances. Already, six persons, among them two university students, a pharmacist and an employee of the hotel where the 24-year-old post-graduate student was murdered have been arrested. Investigation into the murder, as reliably gathered, revealed that Cynthia was strangled to death in the hotel by her assailants, who thereafter left with an undisclosed amount, her student identity card and phones. Report said the beautiful and vivacious Cynthia had chatted with the two undergraduates on facebook for months. In the process, they reportedly got to know that she owned a boutique in Nasarawa State, following which they reportedly had a business proposal with her, promising to host her whenever she visited Lagos. On her arrival at the M

Nigerians Adviced To Keep Hope Alive

Nigerians have been challenged not to give up in the nation but to continually pray for God’s intervention in its affairs. The President, the Habitation church of God International, Rev. Tioluwani Aderibigbe who was speaking at an open air service at the church festival grounds at Uholor village to climax its festival of blessings 2012, stated that the desire of every believer is contained in God’s promise which can only be accessed by faith. Speaking in the topic “Jump over your enemies” Rev Tioluwani Aderibigbe reminded Christian faithful that they are God’s agent of change and transformation and must continually preach the gospel of truth to the flock committed to their care. Rev. Aderibigbe lamented that the missing link in the world today is truth which has allowed myriads of vices to permeate all facets of the society. The clergyman stressed the need for the congregation of faithful to trust, believe fast and pray with determination in order to open a direct line with Go

CHOICES

..We had no choice of what colour or tribe we were born, neither did we over who our parents will be. Rich or poor, black or white, tall or short, fine or not so fine. But the "Bad Goodnews" is this; From that very day we were born, the journey of choices began, from thence EVERYTHING about life became a choice!. HARDwork

Was sung into my ears right from when I knew what. Many said to me as if it was the only way. I never used to understand, because in my case I saw things differently. Consistency at work was more like it to me, it wasn't like to me what they made it seem. Extreme they made it sound, like what you'll do and die doing. I used to wonder at times, what magnitude of misconception they had of it. The first syllable I think was more of it to them, while the last syllable made the most of sense to me. Idealists reasoned but not many of them reasoned it through. Teachers of morals tried, but still failed to grab the underlying fact. To many, the "Hard" part was it all, but the "Work" in it seemed all to me. Absence of work, is what will spell doom, the prefix "hard" is actually something we can still do without. Consistency at work makes the sense in a whole, and is what the word(Hard work) means. Sadly, it isn't the "HARD" so much stressed

LOST HERITAGE

Passed down from our fathers , chains and chains of years age. Kept with the uttermost of care, secured with lives of men who fought a thousand and one battles to keep it strong ,longing and hoping to pass it on .From generations to generations they kept it on ;FOREFATHER to GRANDFATHER; GRANDFATHERS to FATHERS; FATHERS to CHILDREN ,on and on they kept the flow. A Substance, What substance? A Vision, What vision? A Treasure, What treasure? Issues we will trash as we go on. The present did not birth the past , the past birth the present, leaving the Faith of the birth of the Future in the hands of the present .We all live in a world passed down, the original substance getting changed with every line of the chain .It is a clear fact I need not emphasise, we own the coming world a pass down of what we’ve GOT .Crude or Refined we can’t but pass it on because today we live, and tomorrow we cease to exist again. The Faith of a generation lies now in the hands of a chosen few, but now “If

SILENCE

They say it’s the best answer for a fool. But I say, it goes and does beyond proffering answers to a fool. Silence; the first option for the wise, and a big cover for the foolishness of the not so wise. Silence; the 7-letter word that wraths more than seven wonders. Even the Book of ultimate wisdom reveals that “If the fool will shut his lips, men will take him for the wise” Prov 17:28(Paraphrased). SILENCE IS NOT QUIETNESS; SILENCE IS THE ART OF SPEAKING WITH YOUR MOUTH CLOSED. Highly economical I tell you, and the prestige it brings none can compare. Some wonder, what really is the power behind this power? What spectacle is it that comes with its expression? I tell you, silence, more than another thing confuses your opposition, destabilizes his psyche, unsettles his already settled plans, thereby creating a state of imbalance within his mind and body, giving you an advantage over him if you will think and not just close your lips. Silence is calculative; it gives you the advantag
Just confirmed via Rueters that Ghana's President John Atta Mills is dead. He died in the early hours of this morning. The cause of death is still sketchy...but the 68 year old president has been ill for while. His office released a statement announcing his death. May his soul rest in peace.

CHANGE

Change, a NO to it is like telling water not to get wet. Change, the only similarity that exists amidst our many differences. Change, the one word that defies its meaning by remaining constant. Change, everyone partakes somehow, with the exemption of the Changer who Himself remains unchanged. Change, the one constant thing that exists in life. Change, even if you changed Change, it yet will remain unchanged. Change, that very growth we all talk about. Change, the dynamism that proves true existence. Change, the silent theory behind Respiration, Excretion, and other basic processes of a life. Dusk to dawn, east to west, south and up to the north, everything is changing. Look critically at the world around you, and you'll see what volume of change occur in every sphere. Change, once you try to understand it, you get less troubled about life, knowing that everything must undergo change. Don't blame it when it changes, don't get scared if it does, just WORK, WATCH, HOPE and PR

"We give you a free software and you inturn give us vital information about you life, your friends, your likes and dislikes. Even most times, you tell where you are at every point in time". I'm sitting, am standing, receiving lectures, am on the plane, off to the UK... All in the name of status updates, we letting out some very private details about yourself. Like the words of a captor, whose captives are in ignorant captivity,These were the words of a man i heard over the media... I'll love to withold his name for the sake of my medium. Permit me if these lines put together sounds like an idiom. All in the name of fighting terror, the world is now in error. A man's life is monitored all about the place, with CCTV's stationed everywhere that is somewhere. Being YOU!

...Sing like no one's listening Dance like nobody's watching Talk like not a soul is listening Imagine a world of just you, and there'll be no reason for pretence. Imagine a world where its just you and there'll be no one to impress. We've faked so much already, we now can't really tell what we like from what we don't. We've lived another man so perfectly, treated his illness so wonderfully, and left our true self and its weaknesses hidden so carefully. Forgetting so easily that the only true person we can be is us, even bodily. Imitation is the easiest way of Flattery, Being your true self is the fastest way of getting to perfection. LOSE YOURSELF(say no to pretence), LIVE IT LIKE ITS ONLY YOU AND NO ONE'S WATCHING. Its the only way we can get to know our own self. Be yourself, Show yourself(discover your flaws) and treat yourself(making right what's wrong about you). Note: If you've not made mistakes, then its clear you're playing

I May Not...

I may not be a fast walker, but I won't walk backwards. I may not win the match or score a goal, but I won't score myself. I may not win the war or kill an opponent, but I sure won't shoot myself. I may not be in the frontline of the battle, but I won't sit back at home. I may not have all the words to say to her, but I won't keep quiet or hold back the one syllable I've got in my head. I may not be the hero, but I sure won't get killed in battle. I may not have it all, but I won't lack at all I may not get it done, but not like folding my hands and not start at all. We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once. Some say; "Its Do or Do not, there's no try". But I say; "Every Do started with a try" If anything, one thing I'll never do in my life is GIVE IT UP BEFORE I EVEN START AT ALL. Be a fighter! Be a starter! The Game Called "Circles"

...There's a game called 'Circles', you can never EXHAUST. You could keep-keep trying, but ofcourse it comes with a COST. Little wonder, scientists found out, the earth is a BALL. Kick 'It' here and 'It' rolls with a turn, and comes back to hit you with a FORCE. Simply beware of what you say or you do, 'cos on it hangs the CORD. When you 'Dig', dig with care, 'cos you just might be up next for a FALL. Live easy, Judge easy, 'cos life is a BALL. In the game called 'circles' there's no where to TURN. Its start to finish, its keep rolling untill it gets back to US. In that game called 'circles' there's no tired or weary, cos it all keeps turning round and it never STOPS. In a matter of time, what you sow you'll reap, infact in your nearest behind. Serve 'the ball' the way you want, 'cos it 'll return as SUCH. Its Boomerang! What a game, I'm so scared to play!!! It hits you with the force of a locomotive, and lifts you with the power of a Volcano, But leaves you with the speed of a laser and the quietness of a graveyard. Holding it down doesn't sound like the remedy, instead, making it more is what I'm preaching like already. "Make More Money!!!" A reminder that is ringing! It never gets enough, disbelief me? NIGHT & DAY

NIGHT & DAY I sat down helpless, very unlike me, but this time I couldn’t but talk less. Dejected, it was clear, if you were there, you’ll surely smell mess. Though I moved, I looked, but I tell you, altogether, they didn’t make sense. After a while, I held my peace and looked at life, but I really couldn’t find its essence. I searched myself, wondering about me, but remembered some minutes ago, I was catching fun here. Situation Changes, Oh my God! Now I realise, Nothing stays for ages. Like the cloud moving up the sky, a major event occurs whenever it crosses the sun. When it does, for a while darkness(Night) comes upon the earth, and in a twinkle of an eye, just before you look to see what’s there, it moves and there’s day(Light) again. What a phenomenon! One which perfectly explains some happenings in the life of man. The DAY is good, but we cannot have it all Bright & Sunny. The NIGHT is good for sleep, but no matter how long we sleep, someday we’ll wake up and then we

MY KEY(Birthday Special)...Once upon a time I used to like the Cherokee, Hoping and praying to God, someday I'll hold my own Key.Used to keep it in mind but yet I layed it on a Low Key. But once I tried to get it done, borrowing a scheme from Gandoki. He used to steal, grill and kill from on the back of his Donkey. This couldn't find a place in me, kill for a key? Not me, I resent it!And then came to me the key that keys beyond keys, on which I keep my keen without fear, I mean Keenly. With this key, I key into keys, opening doors for me in life, exposing me to a life beyond me diocrity....See, we were not born with it, everyman has to find it.Its not a silver spoon, rather a key opening u through the doors of 'food' that makes your silver spoon useful. To God I owe my being, without Him I'll be a no being. But for Him, A DAY LIKE THIS will come, and like a traffic warden I'll wave it a pass like it never came since there was nothing to rejoice about.I'm yet to own a cherokee, but so glad I've placed my hands on my Cheerio-KEY.Glossary:Me, I = The Wordsmith Himself. The Key = God Almighty,Jesus, Jehovah, Allah...as you please.Gandoki = A powerful warrior and dictator of ancient times.A DAY LIKE THIS = My Birthday(4thJune).Cheerio = Joy, Happiness, Pleasure.

Don’t Sustain A Sheep Bite!(Title) ... If I hadn't known anything about the sheep prior to this event, then I would have had no reason to puzzle. If I hadn't seen a sheep physically prior to these words, then I would have no reason to marvel, wonder and ponder about the subject and what on earth would have made a sheep place its teeth upon a skin and bite.In life, we come to a point when we've cared so much, so much that we're exhausted and got no care left again in us. It is at that point that we choose to "Damn it all to hell" and the birth of the unexpected occurs.Man is just like any expansive material, he's got a breaking point, a stretch limit, and a further stretching beyond such point will birth the unexpected from such man.The birth of the unexpected sounds like a good substitute for the subject of discourse today, because when a sheep bites, the unexpected must be said to have occured. The sheep is about the meekest of all animals on the surface of the earth today. It goes about its daily affairs, simply, carefully, without a form of interference with anything or anyone. Now you see, its worth the puzzle to see or hear of a sheep bite.THE MAN WHO COMES BACK HOME TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A SHEEP BITE, MUST BE QUESTIONED, BECAUSE CERTAINLY, HE HAS OVERSTEPPED HIS BOUNDARIES.Not over stepping your boundary with anyone is the morale of today's discourse. Every man, no matter how meek, lowly, or even stupid, has got a day when his cup gets full and overflows. The mere fact that he hasn't exploded, doesn't mean that he's got no capacity to , but could only mean that his time to explode may just be one provocation away.A wise man will always have this at the back of his mind; "EVERY MAN, NO MATTER HOW OLD OR YOUNG, HAS GOT A BAD TEMPER. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN IS HOW LONG IT TAKES TO ACTIVATE SUCH TEMPER"."When a goat is pushed to the wall, it turns back and fights even its owner". Knowing this, it will be expedient for me to say, SUSTAINING A 'SHEEP BITE' IS THE BASIC REWARD, WHEN YOU'VE OVER DONE IT'.So, beware, think before you say the next word, do the next act, think the next thought, because it just might be the last word, act or thought required to trigger the sheep to biting you!I said earlier, and now I reiterate; "THE BOY WHO COMES BACK HOME CRYING ABOUT A SHEEP BITE MUST BE FURTHER BEATEN BECAUSE SURELY, HE MUST HAVE OVER DONE IT OUT THERE".Akogun 'Wordsmith' Olalekan (C) 2012
