Do not let this hit you with a pulse of pessimism, as a matter of fact there's nothing as optimistic as believing you can make the best out of your today. To walk this road effectively, we must first come to understand THE FOLLY OF FALSE ECONOMY.
By not spending a small amount, devoting little time to things, we risk paying a much larger sum and lose our entire time to bed-watching and babysitting TOMORROW, such things we overlooked TODAY.
It is often said that; HE WHO REPAIRS NOT HIS GUTTER, WILL REPAIR THE WHOLE HOUSE.
Decisions not made now, will be made at a higher cost later. In a bid to SECURE TOMORROW, we sometimes become Penny wise, and Pound foolish. It is the wrongest period in THIS AGE to be too concerned about tomorrow, especially when you have not lived today. TOMORROW MAY NEVER COME!
Little wonder the preacher says;
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
Matthew 6:34 KJV
""But God said to him, 'You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?'"
Luke 12:20 NLT
There's yet quite a lot to deal with today, but our immediate concern (in error) most times is tomorrow. To ask you to LIVE FOR TODAY may be mistaken for asking you to live a plan less, clueless, purposeless or careless life, but it is none of these. You're only being admonished to PRIORITIZE TODAY, it remains the vehicle to take you to the morrow.
Every day that is called "Today" becomes the most important, as it is what you've got, that age-long proverbial "Bird-in-hand" that's worth nine in the bush.
The "Bush" is full of uncertainties, make the best of today!
It's abnormal to saturate your life, your being with thoughts of tomorrow. It's in fact unhealthy. It breeds fear, and it reeks of lack of confidence. Oh, you're only trying to secure your future? Trust me, you can't be too careful!
THE BEST WAY TO SECURE YOUR FUTURE IS MAXIMIZING TODAY, not saving it. You got that, right?
Maximizing today, and not just putting it away in a "savings account". Oh dear, I hope you got that this time without picturing a bank, as it's got only little to do with this. There are things you must do or be seen to be doing today to see tomorrow. Yes, that same tomorrow you're investing so much in, to the detriment of today.
As always, time fails me whenever I'm putting together these letters. But until next time when I find my golden pen, and write you again, MAY OUR LABOUR OVER TOMORROW NOT BE A WASTE!
Cheers!
