Ever thought about what was problem to you years ago and now?
Ever wondered why there are still look alikes of the past in the now?
As kids we needed clothes, and now has anything changed? Yes, now we need bigger and more fashionable clothes.
For as old as the earth is, man's problem has being a struggle to "GET" and "ATTAIN". His strife daily sums up into those two words. The entirety of his days are spent on those two things. From cradle to the grave, that's all he pursues.
From Adam's till present, this has not changed. If any change down/along the line, it must be in 'form and dimension' and not in 'presence or absence' for this problem is ever present among the living.
THE PROBLEM:
Many's view in the whole of this is; "Its Just A Normal Thing". But from the beginning,it was not so. Man was made to tend a garden, be fruitful and multiply. Basically just LIVE, not chasing after wants, needs or status. And there was then and EVEN NOW, grace enough for the rest to follow. But we have now sadly substituted living and the race for it, with this pursuit. Many don't even have a life outside it.
Monday-Monday, 6-12-6, 24hours and 7days, all they do is strife to GET and ATTAIN.
Man, there's more to life I believe, but it all just seems right now like this is all we are here to do.
Abraham Maslow in his psychological theory; "Hierarchy Of Needs", which he propounded in 1943 through his paper,"A Theory of Human Motivation" and was fully expressed in his 1954 book; "Motivation and Personality", helps us understand that there will always be a need, man's needs are inexhaustible, and can be categorized into hierarchies viz; Physiological needs, Safety needs, Love and belonging, Esteem, and Self-actualization.
Does it appear to you I've termed the matter at hand too heavily by calling it a "Problem"?
I sought to see what the dictionary of English thinks of the word 'Problem' and I got a variety of meanings, based on the angle of consideration, but there was always this point of intersection stating a problem as a matter for consideration.
See this;
"Problem (ˈprobləm) noun
1. a difficulty; a matter about which it is difficult to decide what to do. Life is full of problems; (also adjective) a problem child. problema
2. a question to be answered or solved."
Whichever way we may want to view the scenario, the race to "GET" and "ATTAIN" is a problem to mankind.
SAME PROBLEM, ONLY CHANGED IN DIMENSION;
Of the school of thought that;
"Life problems don't go, they evolve & change dimension with a corresponding phase of man's existence. Moving forward, we accept and tackle them" -TW™ am I.
The same "Get" and "Attain" syndrome you battled with as a child is the same you'll face all life long.
As we grow and our circumstances change, our needs change too, (though the problem still retains its originality and generic nature; "A Need To Get, A Need To Attain".)
In the opening phrases, I noted with you that ; "As kids we needed clothes, and now has anything changed? Well yes, now we need bigger clothes, and many more things to justify our new status as adults."
The problem at some point was how to read and write, your letters jut won't sit correctly on the line. Soon you got that done with, and the problem metamorphosed into making meaningful sentences with words. Looking back and now, we still got a lot to do with reading and writing, as there's hardly any part of our existence it doesn't confront us in our bid to move forward in life.
Okay, love was your problem, and you needed affection. Soon you found it, got married and that one need satisfied has ushered in several more. In no time, you were wanting a child, and when you have him/her, it became a need to fend for the child, and the family. The child grows and starts to need company, now there's a call for another child (this you consent to willfully) and in-turn generate another chain of needs.
Agreed, you're now over the problem of seeking love and family, you've got one now but there are now strings and strings of things to "Get" and "Attain"
Do I sound terrible when I say; "You Present Problem, When Solved, Will Lead You To Another Problem. -TW™ "???
Am sorry if it does, but its the whole truth.
"With great problems solved, comes greater follow-ups" -TW™
"A problem solved is another in the making" -TW™
MOVING FORWARD, THE WHOLE ESSENCE;
What's the whole morale behind this engagement today?
-We must be careful of what we wish for.
-We must be prepared for the life ahead, and stay in the know that our needs are insatiable. Man will never have it all.
-In our struggles to 'GET' and 'ATTAIN', we must not forget to LIVE. There's peace for the man that lives.
-Live life, enjoy all that nature has got to offer, the earth was made for us to live in.
-Live, start living, don't die forgetting to live
CONCLUSIVELY;
There's a secret in all of this;
"The one who lives through life, allowing all elements/factors (Time, Chance, Destiny and Purpose) take their full course, always-always gets and attains more out of it that the one in a hot pursuit to 'Get' and 'Attain'." -TW™
Afterall, Life's Manual states and I quote;
"It is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy".
Live Easy!
