Life is a subject of extremes, those who have lived it successfully are those who took a lane, took courageously to their sides and faced the facts as they saw it fit.
the perfect world always had its extremes filled, there was little or no traffic along the middle. Everyone knew to which side they belonged, it used to be a piece of cake identifying who and who was mature enough and had their minds made up.
All the while, and coming this far, we've managed to raise a generation that unrepentantly clog the middle of the park.
Originally it used to be a world of a YES against a NO, but in a bid to find acceptance, we mumbled all in-between.
Visualizing the world I see, it appears in my head and face a wide road, free-flowing, with two crowded sides. The sides remained populated, and the road maintained its free flowing traffic, I only saw a vehicle or two speed off once in several minutes.
Two sides flying different banners, one a YES, and the other, a NO. The vehicles whenever they happened to pass, carried on them stickers bearing the title "CIRCUMSTANCES". A deeper look at the crowd on both sides revealed to me patches of service men, they come in their tens, supplying items, I mean all sorts of them to their respective clan, it appeared to me they were giving the host the more reason and education to remain on their respective sides of the road. True to them, some crossed over at intervals to woo faithfuls on the other side over to theirs, while some others simply made gestures, enticing any one member of the other party to make the big switch. Whenever a canvasser of either side was successful, I saw a member or two cross the road to the other side, immediately joining fellowship with his new clan.
Events continued to unfold as I watched on, this was one sight I knew I might never get see again in many years to come. Hence, I stood still, kept mute, being scared the action might seize if I ever broke a breath or anyone gets to notice my presence there.
Time passed as I watched, and new things began to unfold, events changed, alas! Everything had taken a new turn. The road characterized earlier by a free flowing traffic, had become all of a sudden, one laded with infact human, not even vehicular traffic. A whole lot had happened and still was happening, the "CIRCUMSTANCE" bearing vehicles stopped at times to pick up 2 or more persons and sped of to unknown destinations, while many got knocked down and died as these vehicles made their way through the now busy road.
What a change, it never crossed my mind this way, if any changes at all I ever thought, it would have been to see one side go thinner, while the other gets populated with new immigrants from the other side. But this was not so, in a twinkle of an eye, both sides have gone thin, many members of both clan had taken to the middle of the road, they found a way of life, pledging allegiance there.
A look on the face of the few others who still remained on the sides, told a story, a story that read they weren't concerned about what went on, rather they kept their faith holding fast to what they have believed.
Somebody bring me out of this confusion! I screamed as I sought to understand what vision I was seeing. I heard not one voice without, all I heard was a voice within, speaking softly in just 3-words; BE CALM, OBSERVE!
My eyes glowed with lights, my head 'expanded' like something made out of elastic material, then I began to comprehend the mystery before my eyes.
These were all men, irrespective of which sides they belonged.
They took sides with the part of life they have believed, for them, it was either a YES or a NO, nothing more was worth the doing.
They lived their lives with relative peace, knowing they have drawn the lines and set their boundaries, irrespective of where they stood, RIGHT or WRONG.
Hence, you can either be right or wrong, good or bad, and say yes or no, every other thing in-between is termed CONFUSION.
This was the case of the men who scrambled for space in between right in the middle of the road. They were confused men, immature, not man enough to take a stand or make decisions of their own. They're ALWAYS neither here nor there, hypocrites, men who always want to satisfy all. Inability to take a stand is a big minus to any man's life,
Friends, we have confused our world enough by not coming out straight on issues, of all things that crumbled our world to this point, "DIPLOMACY" leads on the chart.
Please forget it, "YOU CAN NEVER BE TRULY INDIFFERENT ABOUT A MATTER" -TW™ , you can only claim to be.
To be fair to this vision, I saw men leave the confused middle of the road to take a new position on either side of it. These were men who wanted to GROW, infact they were men who GREW!
Today's issue isn't a campaign for RIGHT or WRONG, today's talk is one preaching that you TAKE A STAND, and BELONG SOMEWHERE .
There's these idiomatic expression used to describe this despicable position, its called SITTING ON THE FENCE. So carefully coined to say one is neither here nor there, and with a subconscious feeling that makes one consider the height of the fence to seem one is above the ground(others) by showing indifference.
The growing believe is; Siting On The Fence Provides A Defense, and makes one Invincible, not being caught belonging anywhere. Its a wrong stand out mentality, especially in times when a stand point is expected from a person.
ITS HIGH TIME WE CALLED A SPADE A SPADE AN NOT A WORK TOOL. There are matters in life and living that we just cannot afford to play neutral or sit on THE FENCE about.
Matters like; you know when anything asides a YES or NO is share rubbish and unacceptable. Matters of a Do or DON'T, matters of a WILL or WON'T, a HAVE or HAVEN'T...etc.
There's always much to dish on this table, but until the next time we meet on another edition, I'll leave a line behind as we draw this to a close.
