GOD BLESS OUR MOTHERS

Image
Earlier in the week I made this post on my Facebook page about mothers, and fortunately, only a few days after, it's Mother's Day.
.....................
Its being found out that in the last two decades, the weight of shouldering a family has quietly and now even more noticeably shifted to the women folk. For reasons not too far fetched, the life expectancy of men has dropped drastically, leaving many homes without a father and in turn mothers to bear alone the cost of raising the children.
A popular saying from South-Western Nigeria where I hail from goes thus; "the father's property is for all, but the mother's her children's". This notion has made mothers sit up, and rise up to work for the love of their children and the future too. #PleaseCheck "Every step a good mother takes, has the consideration of her children in it,  be it longterm or short.".  They think us round the clock.
Children; sons and daughters might have been able to buy car…

"MADE FOR MORE" - #UnderstandingMe

"...I didn't find my way to the top of the 'food chain' only to be a 'vegetarian', nor was I created a predator to make friends. I know who I am, and I'll make the best out of me." -TW™
Its been so often said that no one can tell you so accurately than yourself. Of course none has the power to see the goings-on in your mind, what we see is what you show, and what you show, is what you wish and the ones you don't are the ones you chose to conceal or do not know.
There's this tiny little detail about you that rarely comes to light. Most times not because you decided to keep them in the cool, not because you love them remaining dormant or unnoticed, but for some reasons we should know shortly, they languish forever in the dark. The words "Food chain" and "Vegetarian" used in my above quote are far from generic, and if you'll look closely, they are bothered by carets. In other words, they would fit into whatever situation it …

WHEN ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED? THAT ANNOYING QUESTION FACED BY MANY YOUNG NIGERIAN WOMEN

Image
MY beautiful friend and co - blogger Omowumi Agbonjinmi has poured her heart in this fact-finding, truth-chasing, mind blowing piece. Call her a feminist and you won't incure her wrath one bit.
Not new to the game, Wumi has got a collection of explosive articles on her blog; www.omowumi-reddiary.blogspot.com Meanwhile, have a taste of this:
WHEN ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED?
THAT ANNOYING QUESTION FACED BY MANY YOUNG NIGERIAN WOMEN
That annoying pressure on women to get married NOW! When a young woman in this country finishes her university education (if she’s privileged), she is expected to just go and get married. I have always wondered why? Many answers come to mind from the many reasons people cite to get young ladies married off as if that is the whole essence of their lives or the purpose of their existence.
From research and experience, I have gathered many unbelievable and hilarious reasons why women must get married off early in life. One of the reasons is that women are …

OK, What Is A SMARTPHONE?

Image
The silliest of questions I suspect it appears to many, but take no offence if you get to find out eventually that your knowledge of the meaning of a smartphone is laughable and/or way off the mark.
Amongst a few things I suspect might be running through your mind is the question ; "I hope my phone is truly a Smartphone?".
Enough of the assumptions, we should lay them to rest with this piece. Am afraid some would be discarding their (should be) smartphone after this exposition. Am so sorry you thought you had a smartphone. Without much Ado, what makes a phone smart? What makes a smartphone different from a regular cell phone. I believe you would love to know. Now what is a Smartphone?
A smartphone is a mobile phone with highly advanced features. A typical smartphone has a high-resolution touch screen display, WiFi connectivity, Web browsing capabilities, and the ability to accept sophisticated applications. The majority of these devices run on any of these popular mo…

LESSONS FROM SADIQ ABACHA

Image
Taking little or no interest in the on going confrontation between the literary icon Prof. Wole Soyinka and one of the late General Sanni Abacha's sons and in turn, the late General's family. I couldn't but single out for amplification through this post, a beautiful piece of lesson (lecture maybe ).
I believe this would add some value to a thinkers mind and improve his/her responses to life and matters. SADIQ WROTE;"If you want to think, speak and act logically then you should know all three.
1. The law of identity
2. The law of excluded middle
3. The law of non-contradiction.Now let’s look at each one of these and see what they mean in practice.1. The law of identity
The law of identity means that things are what they are, which at first doesn’t seem very illuminating, but wait; it implies also the following, that things are what they are, whether you like them or not, it implies that things are what they are whether you know them or not, it implies that things ar…

"Before It Is Too Late.... (A Piece On Mobile Telecommunication Services And Its Irregularities In Nigeria)".

Image
The entry of mobile telecommunication services into the country as announced by the President Olusegun Obasanjo led administration on August 2001 was a grand one. Winning a rousing welcome from the people. Alas! It was the end of bias, the rich and the poor can now play on a level plain ground (Only telecommunication-wise, though).
Keeping in touch with family and friends was now a phone call away. The advent of the mobile telecommunication services became a blessing to long distant relationships, business people, amongst many others. It brought communication comfort unequaled, relative peace of mind and mended broken bridges of relationships which have suffered lack of communication earlier.
These comfort and gains did not come without a price, in fact, it came with a huge one. The cost of a mobile phone at the time was huge, ranging from #20,000-#50,000 on the average depending on what the user's taste and purse could afford. Buying the phones was not the end of the task, there…
