The bellow was a mail carefully escorted with an SMS I got in the early hours of the starting day of a pleasant working week. FEAR FACTOR

No one thing inflates itself as much as fear does. No one thing prides itself bigger than it originally is, as much as fear does. Man requires 3-folds more of courage than strength to get past his fears, as appearance and size remain the two viable and most significant fear factors yet existing. Many atimes, what would make a man/animal not to confront its fear/threat lies in its size and/or intimidating appearance. Overcoming our fears is not a matter of strength as it is thought to be (All forms of fear well considered). Overcoming a confrontation of fear requires more of courage than strength. "The potency of venom doesn't often commensurate the size of the producing animal, don't let 'appearance' fool you." Fear comes in sizes and the bigger the better. Oooops!, I know you'll say; the bigger, the more fearsome they appear, but its actually as put earlier, as fear merely inflates itself. More of fear is in its size or estimation of size. Only me...

Scapegoat or Solution?

“For every action, there is a cause”. Nothing just happens, everything that happened, did because someone or something made them be. There’s always something/ someone to blame it on. In the sequence of problem resolution, there’s this vital part that determines the speed of conflict resolution. Problem ------- Blaming --------Solution. When a problem occurs, the next thing on our minds should be finding a solution, this originally should be the situation. But on the contrary, something crept in, and has now become a culture, a part of us, beclouding our right senses of conflict resolution. It has become a norm for us to BLAME and trade blames. Most saddening, we spend the most productive energy which ought to be channelled into problem solving into blaming. (Scape-Goat hunting). There’s a problem in the way we view; Diagnosis, Probing, Identifying a problem, and Blaming. It is a good thing no doubt, to identify at all times, the cause of a problem, so as to prevent a repeat. But ...

What???

......*thoughts..........*Sarcasm..........*Sigh...... What did we say to the deaf to provoke him? What did the dumb say to us to be hurting? What did we flash before the blind to infuriate him? What did we take from the lame that he pursues us? ....And, What did we do to the sheep that it bit us? The answer is why this place is called,LIFE! and we,MEN! . . . The sequence, I know surprises you. How can the deaf hear, the dumb speak, the blind see, or the lame walk much less pursue??? I know you're pondering. Even if they truly or really did, what on earth could have warranted such actions that turned the impossible possible? I know by now you're thinking. The sentence "The answer is why this place is called, LIFE! and we MEN!" I know by now you're considering seriously, in a bid to comprehend what it is that makes Life and Men what/who they are. Its an endless journey I tell you, but if you must embark on it, prepare your mind for a lifelong affai...

Laziness

"You have to want to do it to do it, only then do energy drinks work; A lazy being will drink the factory and yet return no results. ...Laziness isn't lack of energy (infact you need some to be lazy); If it were, energy supplements should be breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for many by now". #WillPower #InterestFirst Writing you a short piece this time around isn't laziness, just a proof there's as much power in few words as lengthier ones. The Wordsmith™....

ARE YOU A LEARNER?

Every man came into the world with abilities, but abilities remain in disability until there's someone to help discover, direct/channel or mentor them to work. Life existed before your life. Thus, looking at it critically, we'll see that no one man began to do anything spontaneously. Everyone was taught, Everyone was led, Everyone was coached. There exist so many styles of leadership, yet there exist one fascinating approach to leadership, called COACHING. An approach so effective, you'll be doing your dreams(task) from the moment the class(training) commences. An approach so realistic, even animals could not ignore. WHO'S YOUR COACH? Consider the life of a mother hen and her chick, and see there's no faster approach to learning than someone doing the things you want done right before your watchful eyes, urging you to do-as-they-do. The mother hen is practically a coach, forget about what you used to know. She leads her chicks with a coaching approach, pu...

The ENCOUNTER

Without a care, I declare, now that everything is getting clear. The same snare that left me everyday with a tear, is now a thing I no longer fear. With my peers then, I everyday myself compare, there's no more pain as difficult as this to bear. With a bottle of beer, everyday my worries I share, they were written all over me, they cling like clothes I wear. I used to cause a stare on every face that passed there, I wished I hid myself, sought various places, but found nowhere. Nobody was dear, it was like everywhere was bare, all I saw around always caused me a scare. Something came up, and it put my life in gear, an encounter so rare, causing me today to cheer. Its something you must hear, get to grab yourself a chair, it so awesomely great, and out of this you must share. At first it might cause a steer, but eventually, with much speed, achievement, and into a newness your life will veer. There's a God, and his thoughts for you are good, and no matter what it is y...

The Soweto Story

The Other Side of Soweto'It is a bitiful city, iti isi even moore bitiful pass America sef even yankee sef.' He said in some kind of pidgin English language that even the Queen would have disowned and outrightly classified as Afrikaan, :) Actually it was more of Ibo than English in Language. 'Nwanne I dey tell you na, no dey dull yaself money full everywhere'. I had tried without much success to get to talk to my cousin since he came back from South Africa three days back. On this fateful day I decided that I must see him knowing full well that I didnt have all week. So I decided to be there waiting when he woke. Even that did not work as I waited from five AM till twelve in the afternoon, thereby being unable to go to school that day and attend to my students. It was at this point that I decided to try again later in the evening, though there was no assurance that this would work. This is a guy that everyone knows too well that it’s in the evening that he gets to hang...

Where Is Our Brother, "Do It Right"?!

These 3-words put in a sentence, is what the world needs. Clearly now, we can see, what the world breeds. Lost are the days when things were done with fear and utmost courtesy. Tired of asking questions, everyone just does it as they see fit. Tired of due process, everyone now does it, the way it suits them. ...We used to have a brother, his name was "Do it right". He was the first seed of our mother, and in-fact, the only reason she had more. I couldn't comprehend the kind of being he was, "Do it right" was everywhere, he made his presence felt, and endeared his life to many.   He influenced as many as he was with, he became us, we became him, and everybody was "Do it right". His life remained a challenge to all, he was more CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROCESS THAN THE PRODUCT. He will never cut corners. He was more CONCERNED ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAN THINGS. He never substitute wrongly, one in place of the other, he was such a concerned friend. He was ...

GIVE What You WANT!

I struggled so much to see how 2+2 will be equal to NINE. I laboured so much, hoping to see the orange seed grow to produce LIME. I tried hard to work it through, but something always went wrong(maybe right) somewhere along the LINE. I was quick to conclude, "maybe I was planting at the wrong TIME". I worked even harder still, but my mango seed still did not produce a PINE. I ran several experiments, until my farm house became a VINE. In 20yrs older now, and still trying what I couldn't get done at my PRIME. I'm now old and stricken with age, any further planting will hurt my SPINE. I've lived my whole life, running just one test, that for me is not the CRIME. I've spent away precious hours, minutes and seconds, with my empire now turned into a forest over this matter, and that to me, is still very FINE. I'll never conclude I've lived a wasted life, just as long as the morale of my story, you get alone the LINE. As it is with the plant kingd...

"Diarrhoea of The Finger"

"You discover a free software/application and you in-turn lose to it vital information of yourself, your friends, your family, your likes, dislikes, even most times, you let out where you are at every point in time. I'm sitting, am standing, receiving lectures, am on the plane, off to the UK, on the beach. In-fact giving out befitting photos to match your claim. Lucky you, this part of the world where we live in is only just getting "blessed" with intelligent criminal minds who'll find a man/woman out wherever they are through the use of information gathered carefully from their moments of carelessness. All in the name of status updates and messages, we let out details the public need not know". -Anonymous Permit me please, if these lines put together sounds like parables to you. There's an urgent need to put a check to what and what not you let loose to the general public (friends you call them), because this little toys given us as dividends of techn...

The Year 2012: what a year…

*** So… Like a flickering lamp this year fades away. Like an ebbing flame it flickers into the debris of memories, where it can only be recalled for remembrance but never to be experienced again Like some classic movie being screened at the cinemas, year 2012 has climaxed, as only the production credits rolls off the screen for whoever is interested in its cast and crew *** As the year’s ebbs away, with little less than 24hours before it finally rolls over, I am compelled to look back I am forced to think back and review a year which was incomparable for its shock on our national psyche as well as its turbulence within our shores *** Unlike most years, 2012 stated as a tragedy in our nation On January 1st 2012, President Jonathan somehow decided to remove subsidy on Petrol-even while the 2012 budget was being debated and not yet passed And while most Nigerians travelled all around the country to celebrate the yuletide with families and friends, They were shocked at the irra...

Life; Like Santa's Bag.

Life; like Santa's bag, so full of surprises You never can tell which draws bring you the prizes Off course for sure you know they all come with their prices From dawn to dusk and back to where the sun rises We labour and work striving to pay our taxes In transit from here to there, many a times without taxis So sad, life comes hard on us sometimes with such axes Today I'm forced to write, looking at how life & time passes Not talking about the earth in physical, don't go looking its axis More of what the talk is today is life, its us and all its lapses Its true i can't dispute it that life has got its classes So sad i feel the pain of those down bellow the classes Such is life, some celebrate, clinging for toast their glasses While some have got nothing to show for life than clear white plastics A rich man's world decorated with cars of the best chassis Little can you expect down bellow from those they call the masses Without escape from the top...

The Ajaokuta Steel Project: Arise O’ Compatriots!

Fellow Nigerians, give no more sleep to your eyes, what really do you have to sleep on? Able countrymen, allow your lips smile no longer, for our strength and joy is being robbed of us *** From time immemorial, things have been bad in this nation From when I could recite the national anthem, to this moment of typing this excruciating missive, Nigeria had never seem to work well: it almost always appears like a cardiac patient being treated like a panel beater *** But alas! Alas my gentle fears have suddenly skyrocketed. My subtle worries has metastasized into a monstrous monster that’s threatens every hope, dreams and aspirations of mine *** On Saturday, I was offered the chance to visit the decrypt site popularly known as the Ajaokuta Steel Company It was supposed to be a wonderful day out where I was to behold amazing architecture, beautiful landscape and an unrivalled view atop the river Niger But what I saw was the stuff of nightmares What I witnessed was a nation go...

Who Is "You"?

Individuals behave, not in accordance with reality, but in accordance with their perception of reality. How the individual feels about himself or herself is everything, for What you "see" is what you get, and Who you "feel" is who you are. Self-image is the fundamental key to understanding of human behaviour, for all that he or she ever does or aspires to do will be predicated on it. If you change the self-image, you change the personality entirely, which includes his/her behaviour. Right from our childhood, each of us have woven an intricate web of self-images which I must say at this point are about 90% responsible for our triumphs and humiliation, thoughts and experiences, losses and wins. I really don't know if you ever encountered one of the worlds best conducted experiment on this subject matter? Incase you haven't , I'm bringing it before you today. This was an experiment conducted by a young primary school teacher upon her pupils. With appro...

Leadership Bankruptcy -Mortals Trying To 'Use God'

*** I hate the way we use God in this country! I hate the way our parents, school authorities, constitution and even elected leaders used the name and person of God to perpetuate their incompetence or excuse their laxities I hate the way we run to him for every meaningless riddles-including going to the restroom I hate the manner in which our leaders romance God and his servants during election time and promptly desert him soon after swearing “…to SERVE and to PROTECT” But most excruciatingly, I deeply and passionately hate the way President Jonathon has been playing the ‘God-Card’ since he assumed office in February 2010 I hate the way and manner the name and person of God has been used to excuse the moral and leadership bankruptcy of his administration the past 31 months *** Ok, what do you make of this disgusting statement by a presidential mouthpiece “President Jonathan on Sunday urged Nigerians not to lose faith in Nigeria, as the government was doing its BEST to address...
